Dawson County
TBID Grant Program
QUICK FACTS ABOUT:
DAWSON COUNTY TOURISM BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
(TBID) Visit Glendive
· By Montana Law our TBID’s purpose is to generate more business for the hotel/motel industry by promoting tourism.
· The board of directors must all be hoteliers but the funds cannot directly benefit any specific lodging facility.
· The jurisdiction of our TBID is all of Dawson County
· It was established in 2010 for 10 years. Renewal requires completing the entire process to establish. Next renewal will be in 2030.
Dawson County TBID is currently funded solely by a $2 fee per qualifying occupied room night within Dawson County lodging. This fee increased from $1 to $2 in August 2024 and was implemented in January 2025. There are zero local taxpayer dollars funding TBID.
Funds are used for:
Event Grants that result in people staying at Dawson County lodging.
The TBID board is required they know and approve what the use would be and how it would benefit the event.
All grants are to assist with costs, not to fund the entire event.
Examples are: DCC Softball Tourney, Dawson County Fair, Fishing Derby’s, wayfinding, “Welcome” signs, new roof on Frontier Gateway mercantile building, bidding tournaments and conventions into our area.
Grants can also financially assist local organizations with projects that make Dawson County a tourist destination.
Dawson County TBID joint ventures with other entities of tourism to increase our state-wide marketing. Some examples are contracting with media specialists to promote our area through print, social media and our website.
The Dawson County Tourism Business Improvement District has given almost $700,000 back to the community to support tourism!
